Upper Dublin Public Library Issues RFP for Facilities Plan for the Main Facility and the North Hills Branch

The Upper Dublin Public Library (UDPL) is soliciting proposals from interested and qualified consultants to develop a Facilities Plan for the main Facility and the North Hills Community Library Branch.

The UDPL Board adopted a long range plan in 2004 that includes as one of its goals the improvement of facilities in consideration of current and longer term needs for library services. This RFP is the beginning of what is likely to be a year long process to determine a 30-year solution for the library, offering a full range of alternatives, from modifying and/or expanding the current facilities to building new.

The Library anticipates award of this consulting contract within 30 days of the application deadline of August 15, 2008. The consultant should be prepared to initiate work by October 1, 2008 with an expected completion date of no later than May 29, 2009.
