| Banned Books Week Essay Contest! Banned Books Week: Sept. 25th-Oct. 2nd, 2010
Contest Deadline: October 8th, 2010.
For a list of banned/challenged books, please go to the latest entry on the Teen Blog.
Are you passionate about books and your freedom to read? Share your thoughts in a brief essay (250-500 words) and you can be published on the Teen Blog and win a cool prize! First, second, and third place entries will be published on the Teen Blog and displayed in the YA area and receive prizes. Tell us why a certain banned book is important to you or discuss any issue of this topic. A list of frequently challenged books will be available on the Teen Blog and in the library beginning Sept. 1 st. Entries judged by library staff. All entries are due by Oct.8 th, 2010, via email or hard copy to Lauren Kurz. Email is lkurz@mclinc.org or please bring submissions to the library. Questions? | Teen Read Week Author Visit: Robin Wasserman Saturday, 10/16, 2010
Wired Book Discussion and Pizza, 1:30- 2p.m.: Grades 6-12
Author Talk, Q & A, Book Signing and Refreshments: 2 p.m.: Grade 6 and up.
(Sign-up for Wired Book Discussion is required. First ten registered teens receive free copies of Wired; sign-up begins Sept 1st, 2010 and books will be distributed once received after the Sept. 14th release date.)
Popular Teen Author Robin Wasserman (Skinned Series, Chasing Yesterday, Hacking Harvard, Seven Deadly Sins Series) will help us kick off Teen Read Week (10/17-23). The first ten teens to sign up for the book discussion will receive a free copy of Wired, the latest and concluding book in the Skinned trilogy.

| FAFSA Workshop with PHEAA Wednesday, 11/10, 7 p.m.
Program is open to all teens and adults.
A PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency) representative will share information about filling out the 2011 FAFSA. There will be time for questions after the presentation and information will be available. The information is relevent to anyone who will be applying for higher education and financial aid.
